Boston is where GB trials take place. The Singles Trials are typically held in November, and the Pairs Trials in February.

For Driving Directions enter your town and "Boston, Lincolnshire" below:

Take junction 17 off the A1(M), just south of Peterborough.  Travel East on A1139 taking left turn off roundabout at Eye onto A1073 following signs to Spalding. Bypass Spalding on A16 and travel North to Boston. (A1(M) to Boston is 45 mins).

Following signs to town centre, (there is a map on above website for detail) filter to left, crossing the canal. Keep in right hand lane in Sleaford Road and cross railway. Shortly afterwards bear right into CARLTON ROAD.  Follow Carlton Road to end (over speed bumps), turn left.  Rowing club immediately on the right.

Information:

Parking for cars is anywhere along roadside on left, opposite the boat trailers.

Cycling is excellent on opposite side of canal.  (To get there cycle down to bridge to right of boat house). Cycle path goes 3km up to bend in canal.  Next 2km up to start is fine on bike, but probably difficult if wet.

Walking is good on both sides of canal, right up to the start.

The rowing club has limited facilities.  There is a bar and light refreshments available but in a windowless, small room. Equally loo facilities are limited to 2, so avoid using just before the boats launch.   (There are 5 McDonalds between Boston and A1(M)!).

If the day is nice, the best place to watch is 3km upstream at the bend, where there is a lovely lawn and a couple of benches to picnic on.  However, cheering anywhere along the bank is good as the canal is narrow enough for the boys to hear you.
